Annalisa Rees’ life was uncomplicated, fulfilling, perfect - just the way she liked it. All she needed to be happy was her bookstore, Leesea’s Books and Babbles, and her faithful yellow Labrador, Bowie.  At least that’s what she thought. Until one fateful, winter night in Chicago when her world took a turn she never could have conjured up in her wildest dreams or read in the plethora of books lining shelf after shelf in her store. The quiet life she had grown accustomed to over the years had suddenly been thrown into a whirlwind of madness and otherworldly creatures. And that new life she now faced included one persistent vampire named Braeden McGrath, who thought by some predetermined fate, they were destined to be together.

Braeden spent centuries fighting against a group of rogue vampires known as the Bradacha Vaimpir. As the Prince of Camric, and the oldest son of the King, it was his duty to protect the world in which he was born, as well as the human world he now lived in. The war against the Bradacha Vaimpir and their unstable leader, Aisling, takes a turn when Braeden stumbles upon the life-mate the gods who govern Camric destined for him. After centuries of waiting, the gods have finally revealed her to him.  And Braeden quickly finds out that fighting against the Bradacha Vaimpir is child’s play compared to the task of having to convince Annalisa they are destined to be together while trying to keep her out of the hands of Aisling.

Can a love ordained by the gods of Camric flourish in the midst of the chaos surrounding Braeden and Annalisa? Will Annalisa’s fear of the unknown and unfamiliar be the obstacle that forces Braeden to live out his existence without his life-mate at his side?  Or will Annalisa throw caution to the wind and embrace their destiny as Braeden did centuries ago?
